Scuba diving in Pattaya or nearby islands?

Is it possible to go scuba diving in or around anywhere nearby Pattaya ? I was thinking there might be somewhere out on the nearby islands might be ok for some scuba diving. I know it wont be the best scuba diving in Thailand but its more for practice and getting myself comfortable with doing it.
